Campaspe Artists Studio Trail

I am a practicing artist living and working in North Central Victoria. Art has always been a passion and was studied at high school level. A certificate in Further Education Art Studies was undertaken in 2002 and reignited my passion for creation in a more structured way.

My art practice has evolved from drawing to painting in both oils and acrylics. My process consists of layering, painting out, scratching back and repeating until a pleasing result is achieved. The randomness of the process reveals a logical conclusion that is seen only when the process is viewed in reverse. My works tend to have a strong design element sometimes coupled with whimsical figurative imagery.

More recently I’ve been drawn to the after effects of the floods in my immediate area. Bike rides and walks through the bush provide inspiration and ample opportunity to absorb and reflect on my surroundings and have resulted in salvaging materials left over from the devastation and transforming them into art forms.
