Campaspe Artists Studio Trail

I can’t remember a time when I wasn’t drawing or painting. I have a great love for all forms of art; Impressionism is a favourite.

My art has always centred on capturing beauty in all forms of life and nature. I’m always looking to capture a reason for the viewer to keep looking and to make them smile when they recognise a little bit of magic that happens in an art work.

Colour, light, and texture feature a lot in my art. Experimenting with different mediums on different surfaces and creating new ways to make an art work is always exciting.

I am basically self-taught, my journey into art began in the 1970s  when I would draw caricatures for work at the Kyabram Hospital. I went on to entering art shows and winning awards in all mediums and styles of art including sculpture.

In the late 1990s I completed a two-year full time Diploma of Visual Arts majoring in Painting and sculpture. During that period I also completed a small business management course and a teaching course. From there I started my own full time arts business running classes and workshops and selling art supplies.

For the past nine years I’ve been enjoying painting works for my gallery at the Port of Echuca, and for clients wanting commission work – living the dream!
