If you are an artist or maker who has a studio within the Shire of Campaspe or the town of Moama, you can apply to be part of our studio trail event.
Applications open on Monday 16 February and close at 5pm on Friday 27 February 2026.
NOTE:
- Late applications will NOT be accepted.
- Incomplete applications will NOT be included. Send all requirements (application form, images, insurance documents) to us by the closing date.
1. Conditions for participation
Please read the following carefully.
a. You need a suitable space
You can open your own studio or hire a studio space – as long as it is a safe, accessible space you can open to the public. If you plan to open a room inside your home, you should discuss this with us first.
There is limited availability for you to participate at Kyabram Town Hall, Rushworth Art Depot and The Foundry Art Space (Echuca). Contact us first to confirm if space is available for you.
b. You need to open for the whole weekend
You need to be at your studio both Saturday and Sunday (2-3 May), from 10 am to 4 pm.
You can also opt to open on the Friday (1 May) evening, from 5 pm to 7 pm as long as your property has sufficient lighting to ensure safe entry.
You will need to be present most of the time, so please organise meal and other breaks with a friend, or fellow artists if you’re sharing a space.
c. You need to be willing to engage with visitors
The idea behind this event is for artists and makers to engage with visitors – to talk about their creative practice. This isn’t a formal exhibition.
You can show your work, demonstrate the techniques and processes you use, and offer work for sale. We will not deduct commission from sales.
You can also advertise any workshops you offer, but no workshops are to be held during the studio trail event. We want visitors to have time to see several different studios.
d. Public liability insurance is essential
Your studio/creative practice must be insured.
You need to supply us with a certificate of currency for your public liability insurance. If your insurance falls due after the close of applications and before the studio trail event, supply evidence that you have renewed the insurance.
Your home or farm insurance may not cover you for this event. If you intend to rely on home/farm insurance, along with your certificate of currency you’ll need to provide documentary evidence that your insurer is prepared to cover you for this event.
Participants at Kyabram Town Hall and Rushworth Art Depot will be covered by their insurance. Participants at The Foundry Art Space in Echuca need to pay a $30 membership fee to be covered by their insurance.
We can talk to you about insurance options if you don’t have studio specific coverage already.
e. You must become a member of the Kyabram Town Hall Inc.
Since the town hall is auspicing this event, as well as providing meeting support and studio space, they require all studio trail participants to become a member. A $5 fee applies. Membership forms will be sent with your application, and they can be signed and your fee paid when you pick up signage and flyers from us (anticipated to be late March/early April).
2. Contact us to get an application form
If you haven’t already had your name added to our list of artists who’ve expressed an interest in participating, you’ll need to call our project lead Dey Alexander on 0419 556 470 so we can make sure you have all the information you need.
If you’re already on our artist list, we will send you an application form by 16 February.
To complete the application, you will need to provide us with:
- Your contact details and the address of your studio
- An artist statement: 3-5 paragraphs describing your work, motivation, inspiration, processes and other relevant information
- Links to your website or social media pages
And you’ll need to email the form back to us with the following attachments:
- Good quality photos of your work (3-6 images or more) and if possible, one photo of you with your work or in your studio. Images should be:
- in horizontal/landscape format
- in focus
- framed or cropped to show your work without any visible background distractions
- separate image files saved in JPG format, not embedded in a document
- A copy of the Certificate of Currency for your public liability insurance. If you are relying on home/farm insurance, we also need documentary evidence that your insurer will cover you for this event.
