Expressions of interest

If you are an artist or maker who lives or has a studio within the Shire of Campaspe or the town of Moama, let us know if you’re interested in participating in our 2026 studio trail event.

1. Read this information first

Three ways to participate in the trail

  1. Open your own studio – as long as it is a safe, accessible space you can open to the public
  2. Participate at one of our community arts venues – Kyabram Town Hall, The Foundry Arts Space and Rushworth Art Depot are offering space for those who cannot open their own studio. Spaces are not guaranteed. You must let us know ASAP if this is the only way you can participate.
  3. Hire a suitable venue – you could do this with another artist/maker or a group. But you all need to live in the Campaspe Shire or the town of Moama.

We want to offer a studio experience

The main idea behind this event is for artists and makers to engage with visitors – to talk about or demonstrate their creative practice. This isn’t a formal exhibition. We want the event to be informal, inviting, personalised. For more about our goals, see https://castrail.art/about/

Of course, you can show your work, and offer it for sale.

But we don’t want you offering workshops as part of the event. We want our visitors to have time to visit at least a few studios, rather than to spend a few hours in the one space. Of course you can advertise workshops that you’re holding at another time.

You’ll need the following

  • To become a member of Kyabram Town Hall Inc (a $5 fee). This is a requirement the town hall has set since they are auspicing this event for us. We’ll let you know how to do this later.
  • Public liability insurance. We can talk to you about some options if you don’t have studio-specific coverage already. Your home insurance is unlikely to cover you for this event. We will require you to provide your certificate of currency as part of your application.

2. Contact us to express your interest

  • Contact Dey Alexander on 0419 556 470, via our socials, or email us at info@castrail.art
  • We’ll add you to our mailing list so we can keep you in the loop as we move towards the event. Applications will open in the last two weeks of February.

3. We may come to visit

We may organise a time with you to come to visit your studio. We’ll be interested in seeing your setup and your work, and we’ll have a chat about our expectations and hopes for studio trail participants.
