In a celebration of community and creativity, over the weekend of 1-3 May 2026, artists and makers across the Shire of Campaspe will open their studio doors to the public.
Our open studios weekend is about creating the opportunity for a less formal, more personal engagement between our audiences and our artists and makers.
Our first year was a great success, with hundreds of visitors from 97 different postcodes visiting our studios. We’re aiming to make our 2026 event another fabulous weekend.
Our goals
- Foster community engagement with the arts and local artists and makers by providing an opportunity for the public to:
- gain an insight into the creativity that often goes unnoticed behind closed doors
- observe the workings of studios across a variety of creative mediums
- enjoy practical demonstrations
- buy artworks directly from the artist
- Provide an avenue for local artists to promote and sell their work
- Create a network of artists and makers within the region, to enable:
- the studio trail event to continue annually and grow over time
- mentoring of emerging artists within the network
- opportunities for further collaborations between local artists
- opportunities for future arts events
- Increase engagement between artists and community arts venues in the region
- Create an annual arts event on the local tourism calendar

CAS Trail is coordinated by our committee, which includes Dey Alexander (project lead), Chris Hartley (Splinter Contemporary Artists), and Anne Churches (Kyabram Town Hall Inc.).
